Summer has arrived. Plans have been made. Clothes and toys packed. The neighborhood notified of their departure. Friends arrive to see them off and interrupt the loading of the back of the family station wagon. Dad and his friend try to map the most direct path while his wife offers mom snacks for the drive. The son is excited to go but the daughter is sad to leave her friends for the summer. A baby runs off some energy by chasing the family dog down the sidewalk.
